Grateful for the moments, the creativity, and you

As Thanksgiving approaches, I’ve been reflecting on the things I’m most grateful for, and my heart keeps coming back to photography and the amazing clients who trust me to capture their stories.

Photography has always been my way of engaging with the world.  While I’ve never been much of a talker or someone who thrives in the center of a conversation, I love observing — the quiet moments, the fleeting expressions, the unspoken emotions that make life so beautiful.  For me, photography is like having a conversation without words.  It’s my way of reflecting back what I see, like how others might share their perspectives through their words.

To my clients, thank you for allowing me to do this.  You trust me to freeze your most precious moments in time, and that’s something I don’t take lightly.  You also challenge me to grow as an artist.  Every wedding, every session is unique, and I always push myself to try at least one new creative shot each time.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but you cheer me on every step of the way — and that encouragement means everything.

This year, I was especially grateful to work alongside one of my dear friends, a wedding planner, for one of her couples’ weddings.  That day was a beautiful reminder of how much I value the relationships I’ve built through this journey.  I hope we get to collaborate again soon!

Photography is also my creative lifeline.  My day job is very structured and doesn’t leave much room for creativity, so this work gives me the flexibility and freedom to create.  It’s a way to slow down time for just a moment, to stop and appreciate how fleeting and magical life can be.

I took a bit of a break from photography not too long ago, and it gave me clarity on how much I missed it.  Diving back in has felt like coming home.  So to my clients, both past and present: thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and making this possible.  I appreciate you more than you know, and I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us.

Here’s to capturing more moments, more stories, and more joy.  Happy Thanksgiving!
